GRAND BLANC TWP. — A Grand Blanc Township mother and her neighbor are facing charges in what Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton calls a “disturbing” case of human trafficking and criminal sexual conduct.

Investigators allege Jenny E. Brewer, 37, sent her 9-year-old daughter to neighbor Eddie L. Ehrisman’s home where Ehrisman, 59, sexually assaulted the girl multiple times in 2021. Occasionally, Brewer also participated in the sex acts, Leyton said.

In return, Brewer received “some remuneration,” the prosecutor said. He did not elaborate.

Township police opened an investigation into the alleged crimes after receiving an anonymous tip March 6, Leyton said. Authorities worked with Voices for Children to interview the victim.

Leyton said he is “totally appalled” at the details of the alleged assaults.

“I cringed, and that doesn’t happen very often for a prosecutor,” Leyton said. “These are extraordinarily grievous allegations.”

Brewer and Ehrisman are each charged with 12 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, which involves penetration, 12 counts of conspiracy to commit that crime, and single counts of using a computer to commit a crime, human trafficking and distribution of sexually explicit material. Brewer also faces 12 counts of child abuse.

Additional charges could be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

Grand Blanc Township Police Chief William Renye credited Det. Molly Monroe with being “relentless” in her investigation and “pursuit of predators.”

“Grand Blanc Township, for the most part, is a very safe community,” Leyton said. “But there are sexual predators everywhere.”

The child is now in the care of her other parent where Leyton said he is confident she is safe. A second child who was living in the home but was not involved in the alleged sexual assaults also is now in the custody of the other parent.

Brewer and Ehrisman are scheduled for a probable cause hearing April 6.
