CROSS COUNTRY

The Flushing boys took fourth with 115 at the Linden Cross Country Classic on Saturday. Rochester Adams was first with 51, Lake Orion second with 76 and Linden third with 91.

Jordan Buckner set the pace for the Raiders and cracked the top five, taking fifth in 17:37.41. Hunter Markel ran an 18:02.77 to finish 13th and Braeden Tunnicliff was 17th in 18:05.11. In 42nd was Blake Chipman in 19:01.1 and Antonio Aguilar was 44th in 19:11.57. Matthew Crosby ran a 19:48.58 to take 59th and Jon Linton was in 60th in 19:53.15 followed by Bryce Meredith in 61st in 19:53.4. Ethan Labombard took 79th in 20:40.16 and Joey Dore was 90th in 21:49.95.

On the girls’ side, Flushing was first with 68. Traverse City West took second with 74 and Rochester Adams was third with 96.

Dallas Ruelan led the Lady Raiders, taking third in 20:49.8. Riley Shaughnessy was close behind, taking 8th in 21:29.98. Ellie Reynold ran a 21:42.34 to take 12th and Lauren Smith was 15th in 21:46.61. Kylie Kapraun ran a 22:42.48 to take 30th and Kelsey Wagner was right behind, finishing 31st in 22:43.83. Isabella Roy took 46th in 23:33.43 and Olivia Groulx was 47th in 23:37.8 followed by Keeli Lindstrom in 49th with 23:45.54. Cariss Sparks took 77th in 24:55.18.

Flushing was at the second Flint Metro League Jamboree on Wednesday following press deadlines and will be at the A2 Run Co. Coaching Legends Classic on Saturday. – K.R.

GOLF

The Flushing girls lost 175-216 to Fenton at Tyrone Hills Golf Club on Monday.

Isabelle Sparks led the Lady Raiders with a 53, while Anya Ng and Courtney Pemberton finished with a pair of 54s.

Last Thursday, Flushing carded a team-total 185 to defeat Brandon at Goodrich Country Club.

Sparks carded a 43 to lead Flushing, while Ng had a 44 and Megan McNamara a 45. Grace Kassuba and Noelle Tafoya finished with a pair of 53s and Pemberton added a 54.

Last Wednesday, Flushing defeated Owosso 223-246 at Flushing Valley Country Club. McNamara carded a 54 to lead the Lady Raiders.

Flushing is at Clio Country Club today for a match against Clio. – A.V.

SOCCER

Regan Herr pushed the Raiders to a 5-0 win over Owosso on Tuesday, recording three goals and Ethan Amundsen added a pair of goals as well. David Burnash recorded the shutout in net.

Flushing was shut out 4-0 against Holly on Monday.

Last Thursday, the Raiders fell to Oxford 6-2.

Reagan Herr and Grayson Kramer each scored a goal. David Burnash, Riley Richard and Gabe Rodriguez all added an assist.

Flushing was handed a 2-0 loss against Swartz Creek last Wednesday.

Brady Taylor and Kingsley Likukuta scored the goals for the Dragons.

VOLLEYBALL

The Raiders finished 4-1 in a tournament at Portage Northern on Saturday, losing in the semifinals of the Gold bracket.

The Lady Raiders won their opening match over Wayland, 25-16, 25-14. Flushing then won 25-11, 25-23 over Vicksburg, 25-12, 25-12 over Niles and 25-20, 25-19 over Okemos. In the Gold semifinal, the Lady Raiders lost 19-25, 25-27 to host Portage Northern.

Kendyl Andrews had 106 assists, 36 digs and 11 aces to lead Flushing. Harper Johnson recorded 30 kills, 27 digs and 10 aces, Belle Maynor had 67 digs and 11 aces, Maysa Davis had 28 kills and seven blocks and Maddy House added 31 kills and four blocks.

Last Wednesday, Flushing won 25-10, 25-13, 25-15 over Swartz Creek at home.

The Lady Raiders were led by Andrews, who stuffed the stat sheet with 22 assists, 10 digs and five aces. Maynor recorded eight digs with seven aces, McKenna Hamann had four aces and four digs and Lauren Luff added five kills.
