CROSS COUNTRY

The Flushing boys took 26th at the MSU Spartan Invite in the Green Division with 628. Caledonia was first in 77, Zeeland West second with 98 and Northville third with 133.

Jordan Buckner was the top Raider, finishing 24th in 17:33.5. Antonio Aguilar was 132nd in 18:59.2. In 167th was Hunter Markel with 19:19.2 and Blake Chipman was 172nd in 19:24.4. Matthew Crosby ran a 19:37.5 to take 189th.

The Lady Raiders took fourth overall with 197. Caledonia was first with 146, Dearborn Divine Child second with 153 and Thomas Worthington was third with 179.

Dallas Ruelan led the way for the Lady Raiders, finishing 13th in 20:25.3 and Ellie Reynolds was 24th in 20:49.6. Riley Shaughnessy ran a 21:16.7 to take 38th. Lauren Smith was 57th in 21:38.2 and Isabella Roy was 65th in 21:47.1. Olivia Groulx ran a 22:12.3 to take 94th and Kelsey Wagner was 105th in 22:26.

Flushing is at the Linden Cross Country Classic on Saturday. – K.R.

GOLF

The Flushing girls competed in the Genesee County tournament at the Flint Elks on Monday, carding a 416 to finish eighth. Grand Blanc won the tournament with a 329, Flint Powers Catholic was second with 331 and Davison third with 362.

Leading the way for Flushing was Isabelle Sparks, who carded a 97. Anya Ng chipped in with a 100, Meghan McNamara finished with a 106 and Megan Kassuba added a 113. Grace Kassuba carded a 120.

Last Thursday, Flushing won 225- 242 over Swartz Creek in a 9-hole Flint Metro League match.

McNamara carded a 55 to lead Flushing, while Sparks added a 56.

Flushing hosted Owosso on Wednesday after we went to press and is at Fenton on Monday. – A.V.

VOLLEYBALL

Kendyl Andrews finished with 44 assists and 14 digs to help lead the Flushing volleyball team to a 23-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-16 win over Holly on the road last Thursday.

Harper Johnson added 13 digs with 13 kills, Maddy House had 13 digs with 10 kills, Maysa Davis had 10 kills with five blocks and Anna Schutte had seven kills with three aces.
