RICHFIELD TWP. — Ofc. Brandon Snider of the Richfield Township Police Department said the department raised $940 for the Genesys-Hurley Cancer Institute during the month of November.

The money was raised through the No Shave November challenge where participating departments allow officers to grow facial hair during the month if they contribute money to the cause.

A total of six officers – five road patrol and one sergeant – took part in the challenge.

Snider thanked local businesses including Hunt Farms, who donated a substantial amount of money to the challenge, and Heidi’s Market, Speedway, MoJoe’s and the Davison Eagles Club for allowing collection jars at their establishments. — G.G.
