15 GBHS athletes sign to play for colleges

GRAND BLANC — A group of Grand Blanc High School athletes signed to play for colleges and universities during a press conference held at the East Campus on May 16.

The 15 students who signed scholarships to play sports at the collegiate level were:

Swimming – Ellie Berry, Bryn Maur College, Pennsylvania; Bryce Birchmeier, Alma College; and Zachary MacDonald, Heidelberg University.

Baseball – William Focker, Earlham College

Hockey – Ryan Groleau, Central Michigan University

Basketball – Nate Richardson, Olivet College; and Trevon Johnson, Macomb Community College

Wrestling – Owen Turnbow, Albion College

Pom/Dance – Ellyson Nicholson, Madonna University

Volleyball – Remi Madison, Northern Michigan University; Madison Stevenson, Alma College; and Tessa Szamiel, Mott Community College

Gymnastics – Maya Hervey, Ursinus College

Lacrosse – Emma Beaudoin, Aquinas College
