Raiders tie Creek, Carman-Ainsworth

Photo by Christina Dominick SWARTZ CREEK – The Flushing boys’ soccer team picked up a pair of ties and a loss over the last week, most recently tying 1-1 with Swartz Creek on the road Monday.

The Dragons opened the game with an early goal and led 1-0 at the half before Jordan Maynor scored the equalizer for Flushing in the second half for the tie.

Last Thursday, the Raiders had another 1-1 tie, this time with Carman-Ainsworth. Flushing again fell behind by a goal after the first half, but Jack Cannon scored for the Raiders in the second half to tie the game.

Last Wednesday, Flushing lost 1-0 to Linden in a shortened game that was called off with 20 minutes to play due to weather. The Raiders trailed 1-0 after the first half and were unable to score in the opening minutes of the second half before the game was called.

Flushing is at the Groves Invitational Saturday.
