The camp, which is geared toward pre-kindergarteners through seventh graders, will last from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a $50 registration fee if campers sign up before July 15. The registration cost will bump to $60 on the first day of camp. Campers are required to bring soccer shoes, shin guards, a ball and a lunch each day. Water will be provided at the field, and a t-shirt is included with the cost of admission.

Rishmawi and his staff of former and current boys’ and girls’ Flushing soccer players aim to provide the campers with the necessary instruction and fundamentals to improve their games while still having fun. They plan to focus on passing, dribbling, shooting, trapping, fakes, crossing, finishing and teamwork. The staff will also work with the campers on basic offensive and defensive structure, as well as keeper skills for goalies.

“The camp is designed to teach campers the fundamentals of the game as well as to teach teamwork and the enjoyment of playing soccer,” stated Rishwami, who is the Flushing boys’ and girls’ varsity coach, in the camp flyer. “Campers will work on all fundamental areas of soccer improving upon them day after day. The camp will provide the camper with new skills as well as to enhance upon the skills that they already have.”

The daily schedule will generally be broken into two sessions. The day will begin with skills and games from 10-10:45 a.m. After a 15-minute lunch, each day will conclude with small-sided games and scrimmages. The final day of the camp will be a 3v3 tournament.
