Genesee Celtics win “SHOCKS” Canton Cup 2018

Photo provided CANTON – The 2007 girls’ Genesee Celtics soccer team, made up of girls from Grand Blanc, Davison, Goodrich and Kearsley won the Canton Michigan Cup tournament over the Memorial Day weekend. The Celtics went 4-0 and scored 18 goals while allowing just three throughout the tournament. — L.P.

Pole vault clinic open to all at Swartz Creek High

SWARTZ CREEK – Pole vaulters are invited to take part in a new pole vault clinic put on by Swartz Creek High starting June 18. The clinic will run every Monday and Thursday, 5:30-7:30 pm, with practices until July 26. Anyone from middle school and up can join. Attendees will learn technique drills, sprint drills, and work on some strengthening over the summer that will benefit them for any sport. Cost: $15 dollars per practice and there are 10 practices total. – L.P.
