Flushing golf season ends at regional

Photo by Todd Boone MIDLAND – The Flushing boys’ golf team saw the end to its season after a 12th place finish at the Div. 1 golf regional at Currie Municipal Golf Course in Midland last Thursday. Flushing finished with a team-total 359 while Lapeer took first with a 327. Traverse City West was second with a 328 and Grand Blanc took third with a 331 after beating out Midland Dow in a fifth-person tie break.

Only the top-three teams and top three individuals not on a qualifying team qualified for the state meet, held tomorrow and Saturday at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University.

Flushing was led by Nick Brown, who carded an 86. Dylan Stankewicz finished with an 88, Andrew Nestor had a 91, Max Baxter had a 94 and Jake Desotelle finished with a 96.
