Community fund to host grant information session for area nonprofit organizations

FLUSHING – The Community Foundation of Greater Flint is calling on all nonprofit and community-based organizations in the Flushing area to an information session regarding the Flushing Area Community Fund.

Members of the Flushing Area Community Fund Advisory Committee will be in attendance to learn more about each organization’s mission and role in serving Flushing area residents. The session is scheduled is scheduled for March 22 at 5:30 p.m. at the Flushing Middle School Media Center.

The Flushing Area Community Fund is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. It is the community’s only permanent endowment that makes grants to improve the quality of life for area residents.

During the session, nonprofit organizations can learn more about the purpose and role of the Fund, current grant opportunities and how to apply.

The FACF has supported numerous local projects and organizations, such as the Flushing Christian Outreach Center, Riverview Park’s Playscape and the Weekend Backpack Program, which provides 100 backpacks full of food per weekend to children in the Flushing School District.
