Photo by Todd Boone HARTLAND – After a stellar 2016- 17 season, the Flushing boys’ basketball team started off the new campaign with a rare loss on Tuesday on the road against Hartland, 45-34.

“We knew there would be a few early season bumps in the road as we have very little varsity experience on our roster,” said Flushing coach Adam Smith. “This team will get back to work and learn from our mistakes and keep improving. Hartland didn’t make many mistakes and was the better team tonight.”

Flushing, 0-1, opens up Flint Metro League play on Friday by hosting Holly. – B.P.
