Art in the Park in town this weekend

FLUSHING – Art in the Park, known around the area as the “best little art show in mid-Michigan,” will be held on June 3, in Riverview Park in the downtown district behind Flushing A.

For 51 years, GFWC Flushing Women’s Club has been sponsoring the Art Fair and are planning for this year to be another huge success. The show will run from 9 a.m. 4 p.m.

Artists from all over Michigan will be presenting their items in many different mediums. Painting, photography, wood, jewelry, sculpture, different textiles and much more. The City of Flushing will be welcoming nineteen new artists that have signed up for this year’s show.

The Flushing Women’s Club hold a bake sale in a tent at the event, and all proceeds go towards their different community projects. They are also asking for your help in promoting reading by accepting donations, at their tent, of new or gently used children’s books, ages 2 through 1

Other vendors at the fair include the Flushing Lions, who will be selling bratwurst and hot dogs out of the trailer; Roaring 20’s ice cream; and Kate’s Kettle Korn – all to be enjoyed while strolling through the rows of beautiful art work.
